MAAZA Story
"Maaza" in Amharic means scent- the name my grandmother called me.
A scent is something you can't hold in your hands, can't point to but once you feel it, you never forget it.
That was my grandmother's love. And that's what I want this brand to be.
My name is Rina, an Afrofuturist artist and designer of Ethiopian descent. I grew up between two worlds, keeping them separate for years. MAAZA was born when I began bringing them together.
MAAZA draws from ancient African visual traditions, symbols carrying centuries of meaning reimagined through a modern lens, creating a future enriched by the past.
